Immigration law doesn't give you room for mistakes. Whether you're filing a family petition, applying for a green card, or facing removal proceedings, the decisions you make at every stage have consequences that follow you for years. I represent immigration clients from my office in Sebring, Florida — and across every state in the country — because this kind of case doesn't end at a county line.

Serving the Haitian Community — With Lived Experience, Not Just Legal Knowledge

A significant part of my practice is built within the Haitian community. I was born in Haiti and came to the United States as a teenager. I understand the cultural context, the specific immigration pathways common in the Haitian diaspora, and the particular pressures that come with navigating the U.S. immigration system from that starting point.

I represent Haitian clients across Florida, New York, and the D.C. area — and I conduct consultations in English, French, and Haitian Creole. If language or cultural barriers have made it difficult to find reliable legal help before, that changes here.

Local Office. National Reach. One Attorney Who Knows Your File.

My office is in Sebring, Florida, and I serve clients in Highlands County and surrounding communities — including those in Avon Park, Lake Placid, Wauchula, and Frostproof. But immigration is federal law, which means I can and do represent clients anywhere in the country. If your case is in New York, D.C., or anywhere in between, I can take it.

What doesn't change regardless of where you are: you work directly with me. Not a paralegal, not a case manager — the attorney who knows your case.

What to Know Before You Schedule

Immigration consultations at Jean-Pierre Law are by appointment and are not free. That's worth knowing upfront, because it reflects something important about how I work: a paid consultation means I've set aside real time to review your situation, give you an honest assessment, and tell you exactly where you stand before you make any decisions.

Before you commit to anything, I'll lay out your options — the realistic ones and the complicated ones — so you know what's actually on the other side.

Common Questions About Immigration Law

  • How much does an immigration attorney cost?

Attorney fees vary depending on the type of case, its complexity, and the stage of proceedings. I discuss fees transparently during your consultation so you understand the cost structure before any commitment is made. What you won't get is a vague estimate followed by surprises.

  • Do I need an immigration attorney if my case seems simple?

Many clients who believe their case is straightforward discover complications once the process begins — a missing document, a prior filing error, or a procedural issue that creates delays or denials. An attorney can identify those problems before they become costly. Even cases that look simple on the surface benefit from a review.

  • How long does a green card take?

It depends on your category, your country of birth, and current USCIS processing times. Family-based green cards for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens typically move faster than employment-based or preference categories. During your consultation, I'll give you a realistic timeline based on your specific situation — not a generic estimate.

  • Can you handle immigration cases outside of Florida?

Yes. Immigration is federal law, and I represent clients across all 50 states. My current client base includes a significant number of clients in New York and the Washington, D.C. area, and I handle cases nationwide.

  • Do you offer consultations in Haitian Creole or Spanish?

Yes. I conduct consultations in English, Haitian Creole, and Spanish. If you've had difficulty communicating clearly with previous attorneys because of language, that won't be an issue here.
